Rooms are pretty good clean and comfortable. Pool can get very busy and no where near enough deck chairs for people to sit on. Virtually no one/Staff looking after people especially at the pool area.

The room we had faced the rear of the property which meant we were never bothered by any poolside noise. Rooms were good and bathroom was older but had soaps, shampoo and hair dryer. Bed a little firm but linen clean. Appreciated the air conditioning and kitchen utensils for when we didn't feel like eating out. The pool and surrounds were clean and parking was underneath. No smoking rules were clear but did smell an early morning smoke once from somewhere close to us. It's not far from anything in Nelsons Bay so a good location.

We stayed for 3 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms. The room had a partial ocean view which was nice. WiFi was non existent which was a major let down for our family. The network was so weak that none of us could connect to it. Sleeping was a problem for us. We found that the beds were very hard and the sheets rustled so much that it was easy to wake yourself or your partner. The pool was nice except that there was nowhere near enough seats for such a big resort. We requested a late check-out and were only given 30 minutes extra which was useless to us. If we return to Port Stephens we'll be looking for somewhere else to stay.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment (#51). The screen doors had holes in them and this allowed mosquitos to be in the apartment constantly. I have several bites on me from them. The dishwasher needs to be replaced, its too old and doesnt do the job properly. The washing machine and dryer are both also needing to be replaced and I was very disappointed to see the energy rating for all appliances in the apartment. Everything was under 2/5 for energy efficiency. Also, we were only given 3 sachets of washing powder for a 5 night stay. With 5 adults and 1 kid staying we needed to do a load of washing each day, but we were to be charged for the two extra washing powder sachets. Ridiculous. Also the sensor light and fan situation was highly annoying with us having a baby in our room. We needed the fan on which meant the light came on every time we came near the room. The electric set up should be changed.

The staff have been really amazing at the Mantra Aqua. Great size two bedroom apartment, modern and clean. BBQ facilities are excellent and clean. Swimming pool and outdoor jacuzzi lots of fun and a good size. Pool could be a little warmer especially if you want to go in after the hot jacuzzi. In general is say it's good value for money. Oh, also an easy 10 min walk down to the Marina.
