My wife and I have been reading some of these reviews and are fairly certain that they must be for a different company!We stayed in a holiday rental in Soldiers Point through O'Meara's for a couple of weeks (June 2018) while waiting for settlement on our new property. Annette, Steph and the team couldn't have made our experience with them any simpler or more stress-free. In fact, they "bent over backwards" to help us out with solving a few issues we had while we were there.Nelson Bay and Port Stephens are exceptional for a holiday or break away, any time of year - though it was winter when we were there. O'Meara's, in our humble opinions, is a great company to deal with and we couldn't be more impressed with their service.
Recently stayed in unit 13/1 Trafalgar St Nelson Bay. In over 50+ years of travelling this would have to be the worst maintained and dirty property we have ever endured.Whilst the obvious areas were clean ie Floors, Bathroom, Toilet etc, that's where it ended.The table tops on the main table and coffee table had multiple stains and were greasy to touch. There was a bottle of spray and wipe in the cupboard, a couple of spays and a good wipe.....GONE....The rug under the coffee table could only be described as putrid with inground stains and dirt The balcony and outdoor furniture were filthy, we had to brush the chairs down with a broom before we could sit on them.The Air Conditioning was faulty......and filthy....The unit cycled on and off every couple of minutes and when it did run the Condenser sounded like a Jumbo Jet. Inside on the fan coil unit the air directional vanes were filthy and growing mold ( a definite health hazard ).Next to the main TV was a laminated channel guide when you picked it up it almost stuck to your hand it was that dirty and greasy, not to mention all the Foxtel channels were listed wrong.Now we go to the cutlery drawer.....ALL of the cutlery where the steel goes into the plastic handle were rusting....Last time I looked you would get change from $10 at K Mart for a cutlery set.Now climb up the stairs with me to the bedrooms and bathroom.Venetian blinds in both the second bedroom and bathroom had broken slats, you could not open or close the slats and guess what....Slats on both were filthy and greasy.The knob to operate the ceiling fan in the second bedroom was missing and in the main bedroom there was a power board plugged into a power board ( A major fire risk ).All the walls and doors have varying degrees of scuff marks and dirty hand prints on them....Again we got out the trusty bottle of spray and wipe to see how hard it would be to remove some of these....Spray, Spray, Wipe, Wipe....Gone...How hard is it ????.....Obviously, very hard for the "Cleaners".OOPS, I almost forgot, In the evening if you need someone to talk to, there is the resident cockroach that comes out for a chat each night from under the water heater.In summary I think that it is very obvious that the "cleaners" in this instance are very lazy and that the Property Manager for this apartment is asleep at the wheel
